MERE group member Lars Ravn-Jonsen and I do our part with a team of (bio-)geochemists, biologists, and Greenland fisheries experts to try to sort it out for the Greenland Shrimp Fishery – just one of 6 cases from around the Arctic. Here’s a sneak peek at our conceptual model of end-to-end (geochemistry to socio-economic) impacts:
We find there are still too many unknowns to be able to advise marginal changes in management for the shrimp, but building economic and ecological resilience should still start now.
